DESIGNING TOMORROW, YOUR PATH TO PROGRESS
WHY SUSTAINABLE BUILDING DESIGN?
The Victorian Government’s $6 million Clean Economy Workforce Capacity Building Fund (CEWCBF), is a 10‑year planning and investment framework to prepare the state’s workforce for a net zero future.
Funded by the CEWCBF, the Sustainable Building Design skillsets are designed to help drive Victoria’s clean energy future and net zero emissions by 2050 by training new workers and upskilling existing workers for an expanded clean economy workforce.
Currently, there are no skill sets for sustainable building design within the VET (Vocation Education and Training) sector. Industry representatives have articulated the need to fill the current workforce training gap for sustainability specialists in the building design and construction sectors.
The outcome will comprise of three new skill sets to complement existing programs and to create specialist graduates for sustainable jobs in industries that have traditionally had high carbon emissions.
